German students and teachers in Vigo in April 2011

This a report about the trip to Vigo where we finished our "Fairytale- and -puppet show-project" by Denise and Aileen, class 8c. They travelled together with their teachers Mrs. Jordan and Mrs Schulz.

Monday
Mrs. Schulz picked us up at 5:45 clock in Silstdt and then we met Mrs Jordan. At 9.00 clock we arrived at the airport in Hannover.At 10.20 the aircraft started. We had a 3 ½ hours stop at the airport in Paris. There we met students and student from our Finish partner school.

When we arrived in Spain the sun was shining and we were impressed by the ocean. We were picked up and were taken to school. There we met our host families. Vigo is really a beautiful city.


Tuesday
At 9.00 clock, we met at the school. Then we played a questionnaire-game to get to know each other. After that we have divided our roles in the puppet show.
Then we saw the beautiful Cafeterria. ☺
Also in the morning we made a city tour by bus and went to a museum where we saw old household appliances and farm equipment. Afterwards we went for lunch to school and got a Spanish food.

In the afternoon, each country has set out his tale. Russia was first with a video presentation, followed by us Germans, then Estonia and the Netherlands, and then the Polish and finally the Spanish students.

Wednesday
At 9.00 clock we met at school and went to Santiago. There we visited the cathedrals, and we think it was very interesting. The buildings consist of a mix between Romanesque, Baroque and Renaissance.

After visiting the teachers and the students have separated and we had 3 hours to discover the city on our own. After the city tour we back to Vigo to a beautiful beach. Aileen was thrown (completelly-dressed) into the sea. That was very funny. Then all students went to the park where we had much fun together.

Thursday
At 9.00 clock we all met again at the school to travel to Tui. At 10:30 we visited the Tui cathedral. After the visit we took the bus to the border of Spain. There we went across a bridge to Portugal. We walked to Valenca do Minho, where you can buy very good fabric. After that we travelled back to Vigo. We all then drove back to Vigo to meet and to go shopping. In the evening we had a farewell dinner. After dinner we took a final photo.

Friday
With bag and baggage, we met at 9 clock at the school where weh ad to say „Good bye“.The Estonians and Poles have gone quite early. At10.45 clock we took a taxi to the airport.
About 11 pm we arrived home and it was quite cold.
